I thought a dual piston was used on 2000 and younger trucks.

Til 2000 it is only one piston, the dual will not fit on older trucks because you need also different brackets to put them on.

Thanks and greetings,

Erik.

Not entirely true. It appears that single piston calipers were still in use on some light duty 2500 models during the 2000 model year, mostly V8 engine models. Heavy duty models like my V10 and all diesels had dual piston calipers. It wasn't until the 2001 model year that all 2500/3500 models got dual piston calipers. 1500 models still had single piston calipers.

You need to check and make sure the mounting bracket for the dual piston calipers will fit your front end. If you have the Dana 44 I doubt they will. Dana 60 probably will, but not many 1500s have that axle.

You may have to physically look at both axles and take some measurements to see if this can be done or not.

I find Fedex in my area is the same speed as UPS or USPS. Sometimes USPS is even faster (with smaller items).

However, at least in my area, Fedex tends to take care of the package better. USPS sometimes has it all beat to heck if its over a pound, and UPS definitely does. The heavier it is, the more UPS beats on it.

The problem is we have no Dealerships or partsstores here that have the parts.

So it is really important that I get the right parts.....

I have looked again on the side of rokauto to compare the calipers :

for a 1500 4x4 from 98 :

RAYBESTOS Part # FRC4418 {Professional Grade; Friction Ready Caliper, Remanufactured Bore Size=2.94" Inlet Thread=M10X1.5 Bleeder Thread=M10X1.5 (See More Info Page for Rebates & Promotions!)}
Front; Left

For a 2500 :

RAYBESTOS Part # FRC4414 {Professional Grade; Friction Ready Caliper, Remanufactured Professional Grade; Remanufactured; Brake Pads Not Included Bore Size=3.15 Inlet Thread=M10X1.5 Bleeder Thread=M10X1.5 (See More Info Page for Rebates & Promotions!)}
Front; Left; 7500 Lb GVW

So the bore is bigger!!

For the 3500 it smaller!!!! :

RAYBESTOS Part # FRC10184 {Professional Grade; Friction Ready Caliper, Remanufactured Professional Grade; Remanufactured; Brake Pads Not Included Bore Size=2.285" Inlet Thread=M10X1.5 Bleeder Thread=M10X1.5 (See More Info Page for Rebates & Promotions!)}
Front; Left

Now I have to find out ho to get them cheap here.....
OK, out of the US is a completely different story. In that case, yes, FedEx is more expensive.

I have a Dana 44 so I am almost sure it will not fit...

The cheapest way to get it in The Netherlands is to send it from Rockauto to an US adress and they must send it to me with USPS.

Thanks and greetings,

Erik.

the LD 2500 trucks under 8800LBS have the Dana 44 which have the 3 bolt 8 lug wheel bearing and hubs on them and use a slightly higher caliper, you can put the 3 bolt 5 lug wheel bearing and hubs on it but will have to use the 1500 calipers

The 8800 payload 2500s used the larger calipers for a while as well. Switching to them is a nice upgrade on the 1500's... They bolt right on. At some point though, they went to dual piston calipers, and those do NOT fit.
