Thanks for the help guys. I replaced the speed sensor in the rear diff and everything is fine now. The old one was kind of a pain to remove (I broke it in about 5 different pieces) but other than that it went fine. FYI I bought the new sensor at Adv Auto for $31, not bad considering the dealership wanted $85.

I have similar problems. While driving, the ABS light and brake light came on, and the speedometer went wacky. I don't have ABS! I cleaned battery cables which were corroded, replaced the sensor on the transmission, and the one on the differential. No difference. At one point, I pulled a p0500 code. That was after the sensors were replaced. I had battery cables disconnected for about 15 minutes while cleaning posts and connections. Now the transmission doesn't shift until 3000 RPM. (Note RMP, not RPM's). I have checked all the fuses.
What now?

Some more info about your truck would be nice. Fill out your profile and sig so we know, and you won't have to post the info every time you ask a question .

Need a lot more info for any one to help you. Like, got 4 wheel abs or 2w abs. Year of truck is very important , as is the rest of the info. Add the info to the areas I stated. Don't just post the info in reply. It can and will only help you and us in the long run. Thanks.

2001 dodge ram 1500 2wd 5.9l v8

I have posted this before but my problem is not going away. My abs light, check engine light and brake light are on. I took the plugs for the computer off and cleaned them. plugged back in and also restarted the dash screen by holding the trip button in. checked all the abs fuses and every fuse too. all were working. I recently changed the abs sensor on the rear differential too. problem still exist. I don't know what else to do. I had to brake hard on the highway and my brakes locked up. the front passenger side tire burnt a chunk of tread off so now the tire is not complete round.

please help me!!!!!
