Well, why were on this topic. I just replaced my hub and balljoints and what not and in the process of removing the hub from the steering knuckle(which is a serious pain) I got an idea! i unscrewed the knuckle to hub screws about a 1/4 of the way and stuck a deep drive socket on the end of it. Then I stuck a scrap piece of metal between the socket and the axle and used the power steering to push out the hub little by little, jumping back and forth between sides. (Just for the record i tried this without the scrap metel and it started to cut into my axle!) But anyways, it worked like a charm. But im about to do my otherside and before i did it the same way wanted to get yalls opinion. Do you think putting that much pressure on the screws could bend, or strip them? Just because it worked once dont mean it will again, you know!!!

Actually, that's fairly standard procedure. So long as you are applying force in a pretty much straight line, should work just fine. Be careful though, if something decides to shoot outta there, it's gonna have some pretty serious velocity..... and would hurt like the dickens if it hit you. (or anyone else for that matter.)

I like to stay unbruised when I work on things. Not bleeding is a plus as well, but, thats generally a pretty forlorn hope for me. "If ya don't bleed, it ain't a "real" job."
