...'Cause if it weren't for you f*ckers, I wouldn't have spent $1500 getting 4.56 gears installed this weekend! It should be done Tuesday or Wednesday. Sucks not having the truck for the weekend, but I think it'll be worth it.

Cause either way he'd have needed a new carrier. Same price so might as well go farther to allow for larger tires.

I was torn between the 4.10 and 4.56's, so I went and test drove 2 Off-Road edition trucks, which have 4.10's stock, and I wasn't impressed enough to spend that much money on them, but the 4.56's should be pretty nice, and they are very close in price. I didn't want to get the work done and then always wish I had gone for the lower gears.

I'm staying with the open diff. I thought about the LSD, but I didn't want to put another $300+ into it. Maybe I should have? It's too late now, but what do you guys think?

To each their own, but I think I'll get it all done at the same time myself.

I have 3.92 gears (largest tires I plan on ever doing are 285s/33s) sitting in my closet... front axle seal (driver's side) is leaking slightly, so there will be that... and I am going to eventually, someday, purchase a LSD. Then throw them all in at the same time.

If you still have the stock carrier I would have replaced it. I'm not up on the diff knowledge so excuse me if I'm wrong. The clips break off the stock unit and can cause issues. I have seen that after people have problems they say the went to an open carrier so maybe that does away with issue.
