Fog light questions

All it involves is a nice set of aftermarkets or junkyard fogs, and then wiring to a switch inside the cab. Mine are real glass lensed with steel housings that I purchased off a seller on eBay for approximately $40 or so. Wired them to a HD switch inside the cab and there ya are.
3" to 4" should fit just fine.

adding the factory fogs will involve cutting your bumper a little and some $$$. factory fog lights with the mounting brackets aren't cheap.

I depends if you want to go after market or stock. Stockers mean you need stock fogs, new light switch, and cutting your bumper. Price will vary. After market, is cheaper, comes with all you need and no bumper cutting. I got mine at WalMart for $20, they fit perfectly, and I didn't have to cut the bumper. I could take them out and you wouldn't even know I had had them in there. Comes with wiring and rocker switch. Pick your poison.

The ones I got at WalMart do have the glass lens, and they have the blue tint light bulbs. They light up really good at night (that really bright white light) and help to augment the stock head lamps. Every WalMart is bound to carry different stock. Mine came in a black box, they were $19.99, they were 4" lights I believe, and they had a light blue bulb in them. They also had no frame around the lens, which was important to me since I wanted to match the stock look. At the store I went to they were the only plain ones they had. The others were either way to small, or way to ricer, or off road stuff like what Sheriff has on his brush guard. I hope your store has them.

I have a 2001 Ram 2500 that did not come with fog lights stock. I went to a junk yard and got the OEM fog switch, harness, and relay. I then added an after-market set of lights. They work great and it was an easy install. No new wire to run, no new switches to mount. Cost me $25 for the stock junk yard parts and $40 for the fogs that fit the round holes in the stock bumper.
