Valve body removal help
#3
The connection for the throttle valve cable, and shift linkage, has to be removed from the transmission. I believe the bolt sizes are 7/16, and 1/2 inch. Also, when you get the valve body to come down, there'll be a rod that goes back into the transmission, just give it a good yank, and it should come out, if not, there's a c clip that holds it to the valve body that needs to be removed. If you remove it, be sure that it engages fully, because otherwise you won't have park. I had my valve body down twice, and the second time, I couldn't get that rod to come out, I had to remove the c clip.

Mine was the same way. Once the bolts have been loosened up, they will come straight off. They're just stuck from being on there so long. I can't remember for sure how I got them off, but I think all I did was just work them back and forth until they came off one at a time. try some WD-40

Something else, and I learned this the hard way. There is an electrical connector that has to be unplugged. It's to the right of the tv cable, and shift linkage. When I went to remove mine for the first time, I wasn't told about this, and ended up destroying the plug end that's coming through the tranny casing. An expensive mistake.
