I can always pop off the differential cover and do it at a later point. So I lose some fluid and some RTV.. not too big of a deal.

Pull off the mirror glass (for the mirrors). You'll want to wipe the plastic down good with alcohol to remove any Armor All type products that may make paint fish-eye. Throw away that rag. Wipe it down again with alcohol. Throw away that rag. Wipe it down again with alcohol, then throw that rag away. Take a piece of 220-400 wet or dry and have at it. You'll want to half *** smooth out a lot of the texture. Once thats done, wipe it down again.

Paint wise, you should use an adhesion promotor before you throw on any primer so it sticks good to the plastic. A high build primer will remove the rest of your texture. Then the basic base coat clear coat to finish it off.

Anywho, got the rearend pretty much in. It was midnight, so we decided to call tonight a night. The shackles were a bit long and required us to cut a notch in the bed support rails. It however, sits a bit better than what I've seen in the DJM and other kits, especially since the pinion angle in the drive line looks good and shouldn't need a 3-degree spacer. Should hopefully get all the brake lines, new brakes, shocks, and whatnot installed tomorrow as well as the front coil springs.

The rear end is finished! It looks phenomenal! I am so happy with the way the stance looks, and by the way I could get the angles, these pictures do not do it justice.

Going to do the front tomorrow. I'll be rolling around like a lowrider till then lol.

Either way I'm very happy with this rear drop. Technically, I didn't have to spend anything to drop the rear. My rear shocks needed to be replaced anyway. They were stock Mopar shocks with a prod. date from 97 . Can't wait to test drive it and see how it handles. I can even get in and out of the truck bed and cab so much easier. This is the happiest I've been with a modification since it was painted.

Speaking of handling, what models did the rear sway bars come on? Haynes manual says they came on 97+ Dodges, but mine doesn't have it.

Just fyi, I cleaned up all of that overspray yall saw. It's been touched up with black paint for now. In a few weeks, I'll have the bed pulled off so we can really get some paint on it.

The rear anti-sway bars only came on HD Rams.

I guess those fancy sway bars don't bolt right up to my 1500 frame?

Looks good Trey. If you do find some rear wheel well covers let me know how hard they are to remove and/or install. I may try to find some at a JY and install them on my ride. Save me cleaning out the wells every time I go to the snow or **** splatters all over inside there.
