HELP! New Ram owner right here!!
Hello. I just bought a 2000 dodge ram, short wheel base, 3.9L v6. Used 68000 miles 5spd. very nice. It does not have an owners manual, and i believe it also does not have the thing that cranks the jack up, and lowers the spaire tire. I was wondering if i have just over looked it's location, i've searched the entire cab. I was wonderin if someone could point me into the right direction? Also i am in need of an oil change would 10w-30 work?
Thanks

I would think that your jack would be behind the rear seat. The previous owner might have removed it as well.
I had to remove mine when I did my stereo install, but I have a tool box in my bed. I don't like the life jacker jack that we get in our cars, so I use an AC-DELCO floor jack that I keep in the box. Not completely necessary, but I have seen those little bottle jacks fail more than once.
Welcome to DF, it's addicting.

I would go junk yard shopping and see if I could find one. If you need one really quick, you can use a set of channel locks and walk the tire down that way. As far as a jack handle, I think a regular piece of 1/4" pipe would cover ya in the mean time. (been awhile since I have looked at it)
EDIT: I run 15w-40 year round where I am at, and we get some decently cold winters up here.
