how to keep water out of trany and distributor cap???

be careful siliconing the distributor cap. if the air inside the distributor overheats it can cuase alot of arcing inside the cap. i know alot of people who actually drill holes in theres for better performance. water in the tranny? thats beyond me. i think there is a breather, but it should run up next to the dipstick tube. maybe some mudholes dont need to be forged that badly.

how much better performance would i get drilling holes in the cap?? ive never heard of that what exactly does that do to give it better performance and would that not have the chance of arcing out of the cap???
