pure water makes sense, cooler intake charges, and water expands a thousand times when heated, better compression, more boom.

Methanol is a high octane fuel that is extremely resistant to detonation with a high heat of vaporization. This makes it an ideal compressed air cooling agent leading to denser mixture and more power. Methanol burns cooler and has 50- 60% of the energy content of unleaded gas. Its a chemical intercooling that has proven to be very effective.

Most systems use a boost pressure switch, mine is controlled by a piggyback Split Second system using methanol alcohol fuel injectors. The computer constantly makes adjustments for maximum cooling and power.

There was some kits for this back in the early 1960's. I'm sure they weren't as sophisticated as the ones now available.

No problem. One of the guys I work with runs a water/meth injection on a N/A SRT8 Magnum and he swears by it.

I have been running meth for awhile. I also met a guy at a dyno day with a stroked ram that ran meth on a N/A motor.
