I had the back end of a truck swing around on me at 55mph last winter. Ever since then I've always put it in 4wd when the roads are icy. Haven't baked anything yet.

Yeah but what fun is that? I gotta get up those hills somehow! I just hate the feeling of the back end sliding around all the time. Feels a lot better in 4wd

if you need 4x4 on a snowy or icy road, you prolly should not be going 55 anyway

Just curious.. I live up in the mountains of Montana now- just moved here from Texas. I'm sure I'll need 4HI in winter.. My mom said the snow gets like three feet deep and not all the roads are plowed.

I believe thats incorrect. The manual states not to shift into 4HI at speeds over 45 with our "shift on the fly" 4WD. It doesn't say anything about not going that fast. (Not that I would encourage it.)

Ok u got me. But if you doing 55 you do not need 4wd. Now I could see if you needed to get moving, but to be driving in 4hi at 55. I don't do it. Ps jason I don't have no book! The guy took it out of the truck.

It's actually 55 MPH, but yea, not the best idea in the whole wide world.
