OP...how did you do this weekend?

Helms is correct..it will not shift into OD at WOT, the trouble is it will if you back off and/or the motor bogs in the mud...it will (trust me on this). This can cause premature wear, heat and failure. It's bad enough the convertor lockup will still engage, wearing it faster too. Another reason to leave OD off is you get some compression braking from the motor to help your brakes slow the beast down.

If you are going participate in this on a regular basis you really need to start monitoring and maintaining your tranny, especially with the highway gears you have.

Whats all the talk about not driving in 4 wheel at 55 mph? Poofie. My truck (with the original transfer case) has probably clocked well over 5000 miles in 4 hi going well over 55. Thats just a guess with 160k total miles and 9 winters with her so far.

Hell, I know for a fact I have screamed through the dunes at 40 mph or more locked into 4 low, in overdrive.
