Default Driver's Side Door Pin Removal

The Subject: 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab.
The Problem: The driver's side door SQUEEKS when operated.
The Cause: The rubber bushing that insulates the door pin from the hinge body is badly worn.

The Solution: Remove the pin, remove the bushing, and replace the bushing with a bronze replacement.

The Question: Is the pin removed by merely driving it out with a hammer and a punch? LMC Truck does have a replacement; however, I believe that I can obtain a bronze bushing and correct the situation myself for less than $20. I may even share my secret with you freaks.

I did mine the day I bought my truck with the replacement pin/bushing kit in the HELP section from Advance Auto. It comes with the pin for the hinge as well as the pin for the door keeper with the spring however to do both pins upper and lower I had to buy two kits and you have to drill the holes out a little for the new bronze bushings. I would like to know if you have a better solution as I am all for a little ingenuity.

That's me, when I've heard that "eeeeek" every time I open the door for a year, and it finally pissed me off. Grease was what I had on hand, and hell, the grease is red. It fits.
