Looking to get the stock fog lights for my 1996. Have the holes in the bumper for them to be installed buut can't seem to find the stock lights. Any ideas?

i would suggest some 3.5 inch round halogen accesory lights from advanced auto, napa, etc etc... i put them on mine and theyre super bright and cheap... one thing that kind of sucks though is the mounting for them is kinda hard but i just put screws into the plastic lol

 

I bought one light from the junkyard (The other on the truck was faded) and bought a new TYC replacement off eBay. I took the connectors off the trucks on the junkyard and made my own harness out of 12 gauge wire, a relay, and waterproof fuse holders. Dont use the stock harness as making a better one will only cost you $30 and a couple hours. The lights will be brighter because of the thicker wire and relay. Also, when you order foglights make sure to get the clear type used on the 1999-2001 Rams. They are brighter than the diffused lens type used on the 1994-1998 Rams.

Hi,

I'm trying to get my 1996 ram 1500 fog light switch wiring correct.
Someone before had unhooked all the wires from the connector.

The connector has 5 pins labeled 1 2 3 5 6, but I think these numbers do not match the numbering on the schematics(The don't match up with location listed on the schematic) - Which one is correct?

I have White, Red, Yellow, Blue and Orange wires there.

How do the hook up?

Do you have a photo of the wires coming out of the switch?

What are you using for the schematics? A Haynes manual should be correct for a 96. If not, wait for HeyYou to reply. I believe he has a 96 factory service manual.

 

I'm using the haynes and schematics found here.
Pin labeling inside the connector does not match the schematic locations.
The schematic does not have color coding on all of the wires either - or else, I'm not reading it correctly.
Usually the put connector type, the wire gauge, then color under on a separate line. They didn't do that for the schematics.
This may be one of the reasons people have so much trouble finding the right connections.

A picture of the wires coming out of the switch would be great!

Like I said, HeyYou has a real FSM I believe. I'm sure he'll read this thread and chime in. I have a Haynes, a hard copy 98 fsm and an 01(which won't help for a 96).
