you would be surprized what else might work. i'm not disagreeing with you but i'm just saying that it might acually work like that. i put a 87 318 in a 91 that had a 239 and all i did was hook everything up and it worked. throtlebody to carburator without changing the wires in the cab.

zman is right. As long as you're just swapping the engine and keep using the 98 manifold and sensors it will run just fine! It's the same damn engine!

If the manifold is swapped then whats the prob? The only other sensors are the crank and the ect and maybe a seperate temp gauge sensor on the 95 block that can be just plugged. You can't just stick the 95 motor in the 98 without doing what Miami said plus a whole lot more to get it to work. Not worth it, that's why swapping the intake and a couple other things is what is normally done.

oh btw...i'm about 99.99% positive that you CAN'T swap a single core processor for a dual core processor and keep the same motherboard. the pins wouldn't even line up. not even close.
a socket 939 will run a singe or dual core processor. this engine swap should work.

Some things in the cab might work, but
The rest of the drivetrain sensors are different from 95 to 98. The tranny operates differently also , RH opposed to RE tranny.

i stand corrected...i think i was thinking more along the lines of a 64-bit system vs. a 32-bit...

we were discussing the swap of a obd1 engine to a obdII system...the whole computer thing was a reference that was made earlier.
