Default evap solenoid

alright, what is the official name of the evap thing? i cant find it on autozone, oreilleys or rockauto's sites.......also, how do you know if your check valves for the vents are bad?, if you can blow thru them?

never mind i found it, its called a vapor canister purge valve....

blow/suck or blow then flip it over and blow again. it'll take light air pressure to make the valve close.
if you have a bad one then it is more than likely the one on the side of the manifold (due to oil contamination, thanks to the pcv valve)
mine and my dads trucks both had a bad one on the side of the manifold. when i did a blow test they just stayed open.

yeah, mine can blow right thru.....im tryin to figure out why it runs crappy after sitting all night

as far as i know the check valves are dealer only. the universals at the parts stores are smaller on one side and won't fit.

+1 I second that. check valves are a stealership only part. As is the Vapor Canister. I thinks it's about $50

does our vapor canisters take a filter?...i was looking around at prices and the only thing i found for the canister was a filter thing
