Need this truck running tonight ASD?
I swapped a used engine into my 98, I went to crank it over then engine cranks fine but will not fire. I tried to spray starting fluid in the throttle body, still nothing. I checked power to the coil, I have no power, checked the ignition power at the dist. block in the engine bay I have 12 volts, but at the ignition fuse inside the cab I have .03. I pushed the valve at the fuel rail, I get a small shot of fuel then nothing until I shut the key off and turn it back on. I have to get this going tonight so I can make it to school tomorrow.

its a 98 1500 360. The used engines block is a 95, the intake, all sensors, everything else is off my 98. I tested the coil per the haynes manual. I hooked a battery charger up backwards which kind of started this whole thing so I have a feeling I fried the computer but I was planning on testing the crank sensor. Tested all fuses like I said earlier, no power to the coil and the fuel pump will sometimes build pressure when the key first gets turned on but will not continue to run as the fuel pressure drops when I hit the valve. I checked all grounds I have 2 on the back of the block, 1 on the valve cover, 1 from the alt, and 2 other eyelets which go on the power steering bracket. I did not have any other grounds, checked all connectors, replaced the cam sensor. Like I said earlier the ignition has power at the dist box under the hood, but at the 10amp fuse in the fuse panel in the cab I have .03 volts with the key on.

you should never charge a battery on the vehicle with the battery cables connected, thats just asking for trouble.
you are missing a couple ground wires. there should be one going from the battery to the cross member directly in front of it and there is one below the cowl above the driver valve cover that disappears behind the engine. also, the passenger valve cover has one attached to it and the other disappears behind the engine, both are connected to the body just below the cowl.
i just looked at my dads 98 and it has a lot less grounds than my 2000. mine has a wad of grounds behind the passenger headlight and 3 on the passenger valve cover.
