Well, it took all day today, but it is done and the results are...

AWESOME!!!

I can't believe how much better it sounds. Way cleaner and I can turn it up to ear bleed level without distortion. Even my crappy MP3s sound great and commercial CDs are unbelievable. The amp is incredible and I am one happy camper. My back is all wrenched up and my legs are killing me, but it was worth the effort. Upgrading the rear speakers m ade a big difference as did all the Dynamat. I remember before I put the Dynamat in the doors they would shake and rattle at high volume and the buzzing really hurt the sound, but now all I hear is clean, tight bass. Can't wait for my next road trip.

Thanks, man. I'm glad I didn't go with a subwoofer. With 125W RMS per channel and the doors sealed and covered in Dynamat, I just don't need one.

Ok I'm looking for some help. I'm putting in a new head unit and need to know what wires to tap into for power and ground.

Does your old one have a pinout sticker on it?
Mine had a sticker on the top that listed what wires were what.

It's the old two connector style, though. And the ground was a separate wire attached to the radio chassis.

yep the old deck.....mine was also a separate wire going from the chassis to the radio (grounded to the outside of the radio) The wiring harness kits also tell you what color wire goes to what on the new stereo that ground is the only separate wire from the two plugs (for others reading)

I meant the stock deck...
Mine has a sticker on the top with a pinout.

You should be able to do a search on google for: (year) dodge ram radio wiring or something like that and find a page that lists what each color is.

Umm... ran new wires..?
Completely new wires? Power wire from the battery?
or are you still using some factory wires?
If you need to know the correct wire for power on the new head unit: yellow is 12v constant(holds stations and settings in memory), red is 12v ignition wire (turns the radio on and off with the key).
