Default Electrical Problem (Pics)

ok so i had an electrical problem with my 95 Ram 1500 5.9L

Two wires had melted (In one of the pics you can see the wires i re-wired in. )

Well before i replaced them what was happeneing is the left blinker was dim and making the reverse lights flash as well, and when i hit the brakes the reverse lights was comming on. and the Right blinker was fine

So i replaced both melted wires and now theres no blinkers, brake lights (i have third brake light tho) and no reverse (no blinkers front or rear.)

both wires have power, but there was a few things that had no power which are the following.

http://s941.photobucket.com/albums/a...t=100_0863.jpg

http://s941.photobucket.com/albums/a...t=100_0857.jpg

those have no power going to them at all. and this is where wire A melted
from pic 1 to pic 2

http://s941.photobucket.com/albums/a...t=100_0858.jpg
http://s941.photobucket.com/albums/a...t=100_0861.jpg

As you can see the replaced wire in pic 2. and the other wire went from pic 1 to the clip under ignition switch (which is for the lights) well they both have power. Now in the same harness up near the ignition switch there is a blue wire that has no power to it.

Ive checked grounds, and have re-made grounds, and no change. I ran a wire to battery to give it power. no change.

There is also a wire that goes from back of the 224 flasher to the tail light fuse that has no power as well. i gave that power, and no change.

now when i put the power tester to the following, it made a clicking noise that sounded like the blinkers, and they had power.

http://s941.photobucket.com/albums/a...t=100_0862.jpg

and should the harness look like this?

http://s941.photobucket.com/albums/a...t=100_0860.jpg

now why dont i have power and do i need power to the top picks? im at a loss, and my running tail lights do come on when i turn the lights on as well as had lights and front marker lights, but no blinkers all the way around, and no reverse/brake lights.

Please help i dont want to have to spend 1000 bucks on this thing for a wiring problem.

sorry I cant be of any help you but I had similiar issues with my vw kitcar and bought the hayes (or chilton manual) for it and it has all the wiring schematics in the back....and if you cant read them it actually should be and easy fix for any competent garage to handle in an hour or so as long as the wires are accessible....($35 to maybe $100 fix)

ok...my lights when haywire about a year ago.

do you have a tow hitch? if so, check to see if any wires have rubbed thru and are grounding on the hitch.

also...check your exhaust in the rear of the truck and make sure no wires are touching that could have burned and now be grounding out.

let me know what youve got.

all th wires from the tail lights to the frot of the truck are good, i checked them and followed them all the way down the harness, hense how i found the ones melted under the dash.

And no i have no trailer light set up, but im not sure if there is supposed to be all kinds of splices in there, because i have looked at the haynes repair manuel, and my wires are different colored then the ones shown in the book.

and i have tried making a new ground for the rear as well, and that was a no go

in picture two is that a resistor inline on the relay? if so then why? i would think you would want the full 12v going to it.

in picture three it looks like the relay is providing power to the 87a terminal until you activate the switch then it provides power to the 87 terminal. you might have the wrong kind of relay.

i know the flashers and i believe the blinkers also run off one of those funny looking fuses that looks like a film canister.

ok this is weird. i had no power going through the wire that goes from flasher to tail light fuse, now all of the sudden i do, and a yellow and red wire that goes up to a normal clip (looks like airbag) has no power, and the wire had melted to that one in one little spot i found.

How am i supposed to know which wires have power or not. A blue wire that goes to the clip under ignition switch has no power as well, but the rest of the wires on the clip do.

Please please help i have a 5 week old daughter, on workmens comp and cant afford to bring it to a shop since i am a mechanic but have only brushed the edges of electrical. I know my basics but i need help asap
