Went to the track tonight...gotta lot of work to do!
i know slicks or drag radials use a lower air pressure for a sort of rubber band launch effect...but i think i would lose a lot more energy trying that with a 10ply mudder...lol
i really need a set of track wheels/tires...but i dont even know where to start on the size...like height and width...what would be best for my application kind of thing.

Alabama, airing down your mudders probably won't help your launch much. Actually,it might make it worse, they might wanna wiggle as you launch with low air pressure. Even a set of street tires would be better. As far as sizing, for simplicity sake, roughly go with a size near what you have now. Most regular street tires can be aired down to about 15 psi without much difficultly. Drag radials or slicks can be run at 10 psi, without using a beadlock. Lastly, heating the tires(burnout), on mudders might make them a lil stickier, but will probably just take a few hundred miles off the tread life.
But most important, warm it up good, be calm on the tree, AND LET 'ER EAT!
As far as 3.90-4.10 gears. other than a 100 maybe 200 rpm difference, there will be no noticeable changes

i dont want 4.56s because i still plan on driving it daily.
as far as burnouts go...i dont do them at the track...water gets into the tread and makes them slick going down the track.
and like i said...i wont be lowering the pressure on the M/Ts

ya dude a 12 second truck isnt going to be cheap at all. and isnt possible for $2000. I've got a 01 trans am WS6 car all stock with the ls1 and it puts like 325 to the wheels with 3.23 gears with 275 40 17 tires and it only runs 13.00 at 105 and i cant get it to hook all through first. that car only weighs about 3500 lbs.
You could always search craigslist for slicks, I know 'round here I see them every so often, ask around the track while you are there, the richer dudes will run slicks once or twice before replacing them so you may be able to score a set off one of them. JC Whitney and summit both sell them as well. If you have a local performance shop near you, they may be able to hook you up with a set of used ones, or if you have a silver tounge maybe they can sponser you.
