ok...im fixing to start the project. you guys have stuck me with the bug and i have decided that bolt-ons are not the results im looking for.

i went to the track tonight to get a baseline for what im working with.

before you guys starting roasting me...this is the first time i have ever run anything at a drag strip.

pass #1 18.16 sec 76.28 mph i kind of jacked the light...lol

pass #2 15.91 sec 85.97 mph did better with the light

pass #3 15.83 sec 86.14 mph i should bracket race...lol

i was pretty impressed and so were a few other people there. im shooting for a 12 - 13 second quarter and around 300 - 350 hp on a 2000$ strict budget. hopefully i will make it happen.

gonna start this weekend...wish me luck!

15.83 with a 5.2 33in tires and 3.55,,,,,,,,, sounds like a good ET to me

 

How are you in the 15s I'm still in the low 16s with a hard 4wd launch...

 

Thats is reaction time. lol. Laramie was in the low 17" in his 1500 4x4 5.2.

 

I hope your talking engine hp and not wheel hp when you say you want 300 - 350 hp.
Either way I don't think your going to make it with only 2,000 bucks.

 

If I had to guess it would be that he is a 2wd which cuts weight and he has an auto tranny.

 

That's going to be a wash considering Hahns is in a dak and this is a ram.

To the OP, list all your mods up. for some iddy bitty tinny tiny reason, I want to fly the BS flag on that. This reminds me of terranova's track thread a couple of days ago. I think he never replied back to that one.

 

Ahh good point. But I will stand by the auto, haven't met anyone yet that can shift as fast
as an automatic.

 

LOL Do a youtube search for Prostock drag cars. Watch them shift and some back and tell me that.
