Dodge Intake Manifold
The whole reason to get the intake manifold is to fix the plenum and to gain a few horseys no? why does it have to be $500? bored, i decided to ebay them and found all these intakes that say they will fit out trucks that also look like it fixes the plenum. when any of these intakes do what im hoping cuz there all half the price.

Unless you plan on running a carburetor, those are pretty much useless to you. Fixing the plenum will not bring you more horsepower, but it will make the engine overall run better. As compared to running it with a blown one. It feels like more power because the engine is running better. If you looking for some extra power, while replacing the plenum, do the Kegger mod.
why do u need a carburetor? whats the difference between those and a hughes intake? Im just curious because i dont know. i figured a motor guy would help solve my mystery. i thought it just might be a smart idea to spend $100 more on one of these instead of buying a plenum repair kit.
I've had people tell me you get horsepower gains from adding a intake manifold. dyno test prove it? and no the dyno was not run with a blown plenum.

ive decided keggar mod is a waist seeing as we did it to a friends truck and he saw no gains at all. said it kept highway speeds a little better but for the time it took it was about as good of an upgrade as a throttle body spacer.
I want to get a new Intake mani too! And I am not familar with plenum? What is that!? And getting a new intake mani fix the problem those "things" have?

Not sure if you could have one drilled and the bosses welded in. That will probably cost ya a bit even if you could and won't have all the other parts needed for the install
Hughes M1 or FI Airgap is the way to go. For technical info, call Hughes and speak to their engineer over there about those intakes. The injector angle was changed, there's no plenum on it, so, it will never fail as it's a one piece mold / intake. The air gap keeps the oil from heating the intake and allows cool air to flow through keeping the air cooler thus providing a denser A/F mix. All of that provides more HP and throttle response.
The water ports are removed from the design and there's no AIT sensor port. All of those items are mods to help gain HP and, they have the dyno tests to prove it. I run one on my truck and, it was the first thing I did after I blew the plenum on the OEM intake. It was night and day just with the intake alone. I stuck all the OEM rubbish on and it still ran much stronger and had more throttle response over the OEM. My OEM intake had a small leak thus causing a vacuum issue more than sucking tons of oil and burning it.
After that, I changed everything else other than heads and block and now, this truck really is what it should have been when I got it.
Go get the Airgap. Don't go cheap. Most of the stuff out there is junk and, isn't worth the hassle. In this case, I believe you get what you pay for. I think it was worth every penny.
While your at it, change out your timing chain with their top end chain. (if needed)

You get teh hughes one teh "issues" are gone. Theres no pan on the new ones
im a little blurry on the intake manifold but yes the m1 or edelbrock intake I know fixes the plenum leak. but i can only find them for like $500 bucks and thats outragous. I just saw these on ebay and hell if it does the same thing for $200 and fixes the plenum its dumb not to get one.
I may be way off with thinking these do the same thing but at first glance i dunno why they wouldnt.
do a search on plenum and you will find out.

Well,
There's these things called fuel injectors, you need them in your truck or it won't run. Any intake manifold you see without fuel injector bungs in the runners won't work for you, unless you wanna get brave ans weld in your own bungs.
