3.92 was an optional gear also. and 4.10 gears came in the off road edition rams.
if you look at the sticker behind your grille on the inside of the hood it will list the axles and gear ratios.
the rear axle should have a sticker on top of it right next to the driver side brake drum that will have the gear ratio. it will say either 3.55 or 3.92.

Since you're going to have the cover off, the gear ratio is also stamped on the the ring gear, you can also divide the ring gear teeth by the pinion teeth.

Ram 2500s from 1994-1995 came with the same axles as the 1500s.

However, from 1996-2002...

Front axles, Ram 2500 and Ram 3500: Dana 60
Rear axles varied depending on engine/transmission:
-If you have the 5.9L V8 in a 2500: Dana 60
-If you don't have the 5.9L V8, have an automatic transmission, and a 2500: Dana 70
-If you don't have the 5.9L V8, have a manual transmission, and a 2500: Dana 80
-If you have a 3500: Dana 80

#3 (model number) in this picture will tell you if you have a 60, 70 or 80. The other info can help make sure you get the proper axle for your truck also.

Pull a build sheet from here. It'll tell you what your stock ratios were.
