Question Help, car fires but will not start

1995 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L pain in the butt, My car will fire but will NOT start.. I have had no check engine light!! I have replaced the CAT, fuel pump relay, oil sending unit, all plugs and cap and rotor and checked IAC and cleaned it.

Any suggestions on what else to check, I am dealing with an expense issue and have been replaceing parts and checking things on need.

Any help would be great

Jenny

By "fire" do you mean that you have verified that you are getting a spark to the spark plug ?
Or do you mean that it is cranking, but won't start ?

if you have a key that has a chip in it that tells the engine to start then that may be part of the problem.. how are your oxygen sensors did you have them checked??

Okay the easiest way to explain is the car starts and immediately stalls..I have looked at the oxygen sensor it looked fine but not sure how or where to get it checked. I did verify spark to ONE spark plug yesterday but not today.
This whole car fixing is new to me so thank you everyone

Thanks Again

Jenny

OHH, By the way this truck does not have a key with a chip in it or at least I was never given one

1995s didn't have the chipped key option. Heck, 2001s didn't.

It would not be an oxygen sensor, our trucks will usually start up without those (will run like crap though).

I'd check fuel pressure at the rail, it could be a bad fuel pump.

go to advance or oreilleys and rent (loan a tool) a fuel pressure testing kit so you can see if you are even getting fuel to the fuel rail.

I agree, next step is to check fuel pressure. What may be happening is that you get enough fuel to start but not enough to keep the engine running. So a failing fuel pump may be the problem. Since you have spark, your problem is fuel.

When you turn your key to start, you should hear, in the fuel tank, the fuel pump run for a few seconds. This pressurizes the fuel lines for the start. There is a fuel pump relay that controls the pump. I would check it. You can replace it with another similar relay, not the ASD relay, just to check. Could be a failing relay. Good luck with the fix.

Default fuel pressure OK

Okay I took all of your advise and rented a fuel pressure checker, every thing is fine I also previously replaced the relay that works fine...so I am back to a dead end

Again I really really appreciate all of your help, thank you so much

I will keep trying and checking in for any other advise

Thanks a Bunch

Jenny

I'm almost wondering if it's the ignition switch. Maybe it's only powering the fuel pump and/or ignition when cranking but not in the "run" position...

Does it cough & sputter and then die, or pretty much just catches and dies ?
Could you detail the process you used to determine you are getting a spark ... Simple spark test ?
Sounds fuel related, could also be extremely fouled plugs.
