So your saying that with no locker when I have 4hi or lo turned on its only moving 2 wheels? Thats what it sounds like to me thats all.

 

my father always told me that in 2wd only the drive wheel spins and when you engage 4wd the drive wheel with one front wheel spins so basically only 2 wheels are spinning. that's what I figured people got lockers for so both wheels up front spin

Yup!.... The power is(supposed to be) transfered to the wheel with less traction.

 

only two wheels actually turnif theres uneven pressure on them (when you actually need al 4 to turn) if two have less traction they are the two to spin while the two tires actually supporting the vehicle are just sitting there not turning....2wd trucks are mostly just 1wheel drive for the same reason.
you do seem to be taking this awful personal.....i have a 4x4 too and facts are facts...2wd's and 4x4's both have their strengths

 

+1, and that's why you see people spending lots of money on lockers.

 

Its not personal, its a truck lol. Just diden't fully understand thanks for clearing it up guys! I wasen't trying to say a 2WD can't be used offroad I just usually don't see them getting lifted with bigger tires, thought thats why theres not a lot of lift kits out there for 2WD trucks. Its good because I was looking at a locker for my truck, but I've heard there only really used for rocks or areas where a wheel would come off the ground. I've also read that there not really great in mud since no wheels have good traction in mud. Not trying to pick a fight guys, I think fighting on a forum is about the stupidest thing next to Paris Hilton.

 

There are just as many suspension options for 2WD trucks as there are for 4x4's. And the kits for 2WD trucks are typically of far higher quality because they are designed to be used at higher speeds.
