ive wanted to cut my cat off and have it completely straight piped but i was told it would burn my exhaust valves up because i wouldnt have any back pressure. is this true?
that is rediculous...unless you are running your exhaust straight out of the head you arent gonna burn up your valves.

like said earlier...weld in some nonfoulers and put the o2 sensors there. i would run the second o2 sensor as far down the pipe as possible...cooler exhaust.

there will be a difference...resonance is what you are after not dbs. the more it resonates the further it will carry.
the echo sound you are hearing is from the gutted cat...instead of the exhaust escaping it is getting caught up in the funny shaped cat. if it can "bounce" off of the walls of the pipe from the manifolds/headers all the way to those mammoth tips...boom boom boom! GOOD STUFF!
