Default Steering dampener

So, this weekend I found out I have an aftermarket steering dampner on my ram. As you can see whoever put this on my truck put it hanging very low. Im thinking of loosening the u-bolts and readjusting it. Do you think i should? or should I just get another one.
Can anyone at least tell me who makes this? as you can see its in pretty crappy condition, so im not sure if i want to just sand it and repaint it or get a new one.

That empty hole above the mid-point is where the stock single dampener mounts. That's how much lower your jury-rigged setup is. I wouldn't waste time with those rusted ones. A dual dampener setup really isn't needed unless you get into tires 36" and larger. You can get a good single setup that uses the stock mountings. That was one of the first things I did to my truck after I bought it. I got this Pro Comp unit. I would never want the low-hanging setup you have.

i would take those off and measure them fully extended and full collapsed and call whatever maker you want to use and match something up and straighten the bracket up and run dual stabilizers those set-ups are not cheap. if you have it freshen her up and run it!

It looks like a Superlift setup. I agree. Pull it off and throw it away and put a single on or none.

Yeah, the thing its i dont offroad. This is a DD drag truck. WIth snow driving and water. But i want the option to go in mudd or off road if need be (but nothing serious). So go with a single? Or the duel?

What pisses me off, is the idiot PO who put this stuff on w/o thinking. Also at myself for not noticing sooner.
