Default guys i need some last min advice about exhaust

okay now i know you guys are probly getting tired of these exhuast question.. so i'll make it simple i have a 2001 dodge ram 2500 witha 5.9 and at the moment a flowmaster super 44 muffler what i want to know is if i take my cat off it has O2 sensor before and after it.. will it make my motor run rough or too lean? i know my check engine light will come on. but i don't want to do this if its going to make my truck run bad.

i'm going for sound i know it i might gain a little power but i don't care i just want it to be louder..

so now if i take the cat off and also the muffler.. will it run rough or?

give me your guess advice. but i don't want to invest in headers and dual exhuast yet i just want to make due with the stock pipe for now.. so let me know what you guess thanks..

i'm new to this computer controlled stuff i'm still in high school so i have lots to learn about the newer trucks thanks

it will make it run rough. you need to put a fouler on it for the pre-cat sensor.

its spark plug non fouler. and it goes on the downstream o2 sensor to keep the CEL from coming on. if you put the non fouler on the upstream o2 sensor then the engine will run really rich, if it'll even run at all. with the non fouler covering up the tip of the upstream o2 sensor the pcm will read it as not getting enough fuel.

i have been running without a downstream o2 for 2 years now, it runs fine, the only thing you will have a problem with is the MIL will stay illuminated.

Holy loud. I thought the 44 was loud, but you want louder. Yikes. It eill sound like a sprint car.

Non-fouler is cheap fix, like others suggested.

A 44 IIRC is basically a retangle shaped Cherry Bomb. To the OP, You will need an O2 Sim for the pre cat (upstream) sensor IF you don't want a constant CEL.

o2 sim for the upstream, but if you cut the cat off after the upstream o2, youll just need to put the non fouler on the down stream which would normally be after the cat. and you wont have the constant MIL
