If done properly, HIDs in reflector style housings will work just fine. Like I've stated before, Toyota and Honda have done it for a while in some of their cars. Projectors would be better overall for the light output and oncoming traffic, however, its tough to find a good aftermarket projector for our trucks, let alone one for a Sport model.
When it comes to HIDs, always get a 35w kit. Unless you're putting them in off-road lights, never get over that, otherwise its the equivalent of you driving around with your high beams on plus some. Guaranteed ticket and/or angry road-rage drivers around you.

Yeah exactily jasonw i got the 35w set and its hard to find aftermarket lights for a sport model, and why would they sell the lights or have vehicles come stock with them if there gonna hand out tickets for the lights, ill gladly put projectors on my truck if you wanna pay for them but your gonna have to do it for a lot of people if you dont want to get blinded

I don't even drive my Cavalier at night due to people like that.
