Default AHHH!! Rear shackle snapped...

ok so i went to the dealeship to get some Mopar Combustion Cleaner, and as i turned into the dealership i heard a loud clunking sound in rear end. I get out of my truck, and its badly lopsided, so i go in, and when i tell th technition what happened, immideiatly he said shakle snapped. and as we looked at it he was right. the rear leaf shackle snapped and the back of leaf spring is hitting the bottom of bed.

So luckily they had the shakle, bushing, and bolts in stock. but it came out to 109.51!!!! i told them i had only 70 bucks on me. and to my disbelief, the guy actually gave me his discount, and i ended up paying 67.29! i have never heard of the dealership being nice like this..

so im going to replace it. is it an easy job? or are there some things that i should know? looks self explainitory, just two bolts, then re-align the leaf spring...but how would i get the leaf spring back down? just jack up on rear diff?

Well use a length of 4x4 or something, just be careful and don't let anyone stand near the jack in case it pops out. It doesn't have to go up too much.

When I had to jack my rear body up when putting the coil over shocks in, I took my buddy's drop pintle hitch in the reciever and jacked on the verticle plate. It was a pretty good drop pintle plate, but... it did work Just a thought.
