Default DIY: Orange Gear Indicator PRND21

If your tired of looking to see what gear your in and it shows reverse but your in neutral well if your orange indicator is off of were its supposed to be there is an easy fix, and it only takes a couple minutes

1. Take lower dash panel off, the one below the steering wheel
2. On the right side of the steering column you should see a tab sticking out that has a wire with a loop connected to it.

3. Right above this tab there is a plastic screw which you can adjust either way to adjust the indicator or just bend down the tab a tad
4. PUT PARKING BRAKE ON
5. Go through the gears and make sure its were you want it
6. Put dash panel back on

Good write-up, and thank you for calling the Parking Brake by its correct name.

Very nice DIY.
I second the parking brake. Not much of an emergency brake with a little pedal up high and over to the left...

There in a adjusting screw to above that so your not bending that and maybe braking it. Plus it make sence to do it the right way

You could also throw it in first, but auto tranny's don't seem to like engine braking very much....

i engine brake mine every now and then, usually when im pulling a heavy farm wagon, they have no brakes, it seems to help a little, if nothing else, it makes an awesome noise when the motor revs
