I have one with manifold right before cooler too. The highest I have seen it was at 210 the other day, but it was hot outside and I was in traffic. I have the isspro EV2 gauge, only had it for about week now though.

After messing with the ports and all that I honestly think the manifold is the easiest option.

Well I talked to MonteC about it and he said it would give a better reading. He just rebuild tranny so asked him to put manifold on and I wired the gauge up.

In the feed line (comes out of the torque converter) your going to see from 180-200ish, upwards of 230 max. If your seeing 230 stop and let it cool down, if it keeps going up to 230 you are working the trans too hard.

On the cold side it will be about 20-40 degrees cooler, depending on how efficient your cooler is.
