Default My new truck and pics of a few mods

I recently bought a 2001 Ram 1500 Sport. It was well maintained and had just one owner who kept it in the garage. The best part? It has just 55983 miles. Heres some pics:

First thing i did was replace the stock muffler with something a bit louder. The finish burnt right off:

So i repainted it with VHT Flame proof paint which is in the process of burning off:

I need to figure out why my muffler is getting so hot.

Then i installed a leveling kit from hell bent steel to bring the front end up a bit:

Thats definatley a very clean truck. I love the looks of the regular cab short box's. I used to have one and they're so easy to manuver around. I also love the looks of the sport package to. How much did that air cleaner cost you. And how big is that leveling kit you got in there. I think im gonna put a 3inch in mine after christmas

Love it. The shop that did it hooked up a lead and let me hear a few different mufflers(the CB, a FM40 and a Magnaflow). This was the loudest. Sounds nice and deep. Drones on the highway though, thats for sure.

Well, for starters, on that muffler, the reason it's getting so hot is the fact that it's a hell of a lot closer to the headers than I've ever seen on a 2nd gen. Another thing, it looks like you don't have a cat in there either. Really hard to tell from the pics though.

Nice find, just keep up on the rust in the engine bay and you'll be golden.

Stock cat is still in there. I think part of the heat issue is due to the fact its only a 6" case.

No, the length wont make that much of a difference. I know a few guys over in 3rd gen running the same muffler and they look like they are brand new.
