Uh yeah, to bad the bulbs wiring harnesses stick out a little bit in the back. Are you just going to mash them back against a metal frame?

Can I paint over that chrome or polish whatever it is? I thought anything with smooth surface like that wont have paint stick to it. I really dont know jack about painting, and dont want it to look like trash.

You can paint over anything as long as you prepare the surface properly. You'll need to Scotchbrite that chrome to take the shine off it and provide a texture that will hold paint. Do a Google search on 'painting over chrome' and you'll find lots of info on how to do it. Your results will be based on how good a job you do at sanding the surface down.

Damn, I didn't even think of that. Why do you have a chrome grille on a Sport model? Should be matched to the body. You sure you have a Sport? Maybe you have a chrome overlay?

The chrome grilles on our trucks is just a thin film. It can be removed with some elbow grease and time, but is really not worth it. You will likely find that your grille is cracked under the film and lots of times the grille will crack when you take it off the hood. With new grilles being cheap ($40-$50) there is no real reason to use your old one.

Maybe I'm not describing the same thing you guys are talking about. The inserts are chrome but the actual piece that has the dodge emblem on it is black. Im looking to get the insert portion of the grille black. It supposed to be a 2001 1500 Q-cab sport with off-road package. On a side note, the car did have front end damage at some point, most obvious is the one new fog lamp, I wonder if the front bumper was replaced with the wrong one at the time of accident? Does it look right to you guys? I can get a front view if this isnt clear enough. Thanks in advance!
