I have 6.5" Polk DB's in my rear door and they fit perfectly. I think the factory speaker looked slightly smaller though.
the rear took 5 1/4 but 6.5's fit easily...I did the same thing...mine doesnt haverear doors though..

Not to mention, you made a boo boo.

The H/U you picked out can provide 18W RMS or 4W RMS per channel This is peak. The speakers you picked out need at least 6W RMS per speaker. This means that your H/U is short by 2W. It will sound much better over stock, but those wont sing near as well as you think they should for the money.
I assumed since he is going to use a sub he was gonna amplify the speakers too....kind of silly to run those off just the head unit when you have that kind of money invested already..

very true.....
Looking back at Miami's pics it looks like the actual 4 door models had 6.5" speakers in the rear....mine were 5 1/4 in the earlier 2door ext cab series..
I bought the dynomat stuff (different brand but same) but I havent uesd it yet since the rear quarter panels had stuff installed already ?? along with small pastic bags of sponge material, looked factory....Although I dont remember seeing it in my front doors?

For a fact fronts are 6x9 and ex cab rears are a 5.25. if you are not putting an amp on those front speakers you are throwing money away. Yes they will sound better but the problem is distortion which you get from under powering a speaker. You can blow a speaker faster under powering it rather then over powering it. With over powering you dont have as much distortion. (the sound you hear when people crank it so loud that all you hear is crackling) And a sound system is only as good as the weakest component. Good speakers + crap H/U = poor quality.

then miami must have put $" speakers in his rear doors? I see adapter plates and judging by the screw patterns thos actually look like 4" speakers from the pic.... if im wrong than it was cut out for 6.5" previously...

btw as I stated before I totally agree with the speaker power statement above... much easiler to cut the lower frequencies from the mids (door speakers) with a crossover in amp to achieve louder volume with less distortion if you have a sub too..as well as keep highs and mid frequencies out of the sub bandwidth.

figures...front doors are what need it the most in my truck.... It should have plenty of clearance on my doors from windows as long as it sticks good and doesnt peel...It looks like good stuff though so..

I never believed in dynomat until i tried it and it does help. Makes for a more solid surface.

Your going to spend another $22 (trust me) at walmart with the adaptor plate and wiring harness. and then your left without instructions. Plus crutchfrield backs up their products, and has almost all day service at a phone call away, American people to lol. To go along with that i will suggest a sub. I see you have a single cab like myself. This is avalable at Bestbuy (at least mine) with a box to go with it. Its less then 8inchs wide at the bottem, its a 10in sub from sony, its 1200w max, and it fits in our trucks. as far as amps your on your own. idk what im going to get yet. but i will tell you all when i do, and as to how well it perform.

p.s. its great to be back on Dodgeforum.
Nope my adapter plate was 5$ and the harness was $9. So it was less than 22$ and i got it the same day and installed it the same day.
