Yeah you have a good point. A lot of luxury cars do use projector's. But all of them probably run HID's, don't you think? Or they are built correctly to dissipate the light in the right pattern, to be useful. I wonder if the ram projector's just need to be tweaked. I did a little research at one point on light patterns of projectors and HID's. I'll take a look for the article and see what you guys think.

...Reading on some other Mercedes-Benz forums, seems to be that most HID upgrade kit's, if installed on a non-HID housing, can be pretty bad with light patterns. This is probably what I experienced. A lot of the luxury cars install "alternating plates" in the housing, to make the light pattern correct. I'll have to look into it more.

Most people I see that run HIDs are those without the appropriate housing and unaimed, which is why they have such a bad reputation for blinding people on the road.

Correct.. And those are also the case's probably where their own vision sucks-due to poor pattern, incorrect housing, and bad aim. Some project headlights are not adjustable, keep this in mind. I had a set on my 2nd gen ram that you could not aim.

Here is a pic of the euro diamond's I put on my 98 2nd gen ram, I think they look better then projector's, just my opinion though, and make the truck look newer, but still offer great visibility.. see image below.

OH! Let me throw a little fun pic in too.. teehee.. this is why I buy ram's.. because after that... zero damage... dodge tough

My self, im going to try the hid's....I like how bright they looked in pics above and mine are fully and independantly adjustable from the high beams.....I also know I have the same lenses as the the ones in thase pics cause I have the same exact line pattern at the cutoff...
either diamond or projector look great and update the look compared to oem...
