What size tire is the same size as a 33?
yea i was thinking that i just wanna get rid of the 33's i have now and get somthing that will be taller and fill my wheel wells up more. So i didnt know if i should go with the 285/75r16 or even go with the 305/70r 16. I also plan on going back to the stock wheels and get rid of these 15 eagle wheels that the P.O put on
To the OP, saying you will not see any rubbing from the 285's is kinda hard to predict, but with it being an inch skinnier (and they same overall diameter), you have a slim chance in my book. It mainly depends on the wheel backspacing.

If you put 285's on the stock wheels, I will personally guarantee no rubbing with your 2 1/2" lift. The rubbing issue mainly begins with offset rims, which are very common with 15"ers. Hell, 285's pretty much fit without any rubbing with stock wheels and no lift.
I never said anything about the size existing... It may very well not. I was just going off what 011500Ram said... he made an incorrect statement about the size 285 70 16 and I was just correcting him based on the math. Apparently he just misread something so there isn't a need to go into it any further!

Gotchya, I see now.
