Default vaccum lines

i've been looking for some time now, and the search feature hasn't yielded anything, but i'm looking for replacement vaccum lines for my truck. i was under the hood today doing other stuff, and realized that my vaccum line for what i believe is the defroster is broken. which to me, makes sense, because it hasn't been coming out of defrost selection when i try. so just curious if anyone know where i can get some replacement vaccum lines. or if i have to go to a junkyard to find some. haha. thanks

any auto parts store. its sold by the foot from big spools. not expensive.

cut off a small piece of the lines you intend to replace and match the size. match the size to the cut end, not the original end that flared out with age.

Is a section missing or is it just split? If it's split then just use a small piece of rubber vacuum line as a coupling. That's what I did with mine. Let me know if you need a pic so you know what I'm talking about.

they just push onto the nipple connectors.
don't try to splice new onto old. the old ones are likely brittle and rotten. just replace them.

tip - if you suspect the hose that disappears into the firewall is bad, remove the wipers and cowl cover to expose a vacuum canister hiding under the cowl (on my 01). it holds - well, nothing... to get the wipers off you have to lift the arm all the way upward, and then slide the retainer at the base a little, and then lift the wiper off the splined stub. don't force it. its all magic. when its in the right position, it just pops off. tip2 - mark the position of the wiper on the windshield with a piece of tape before removal.

about all of mine under the hood were broke, i went out and got the bulk line at oreillys, its a 5/16 line and $.75 a foot (i think). the junctions just push together with a barb fitting, pull off and push new on

if you happen to have a fish tank then i'm sure you have some of the clear tubing for the bubbler, i bet that would work to fix a clean break too. well, that and maybe a little silicone or a good glue like welder glue on each end where the fish tank tubing meets the existing vacuum line.
