not to do it right and keep the same performance/ride quality you cant....

 

You can get spacers and add a leaf for that price. I have never seen any facts saying that you get better ride quality by paying extra for a kit. My buddys truck rides just fine with spacers and blocks. If your trying to ramp the dang thing, you may want to invest in a kit otherwise kits are jokes.

I have a set of 33" km2's they are so quite. At 80 they are as loud as my at's.

 

there's nothing wrong with spacers and add a leafs.
the only change in the ride on my truck is a little less bounce on speed bumps since i put add a leafs on.
you know, a little more height isn't the only advantage that you get from add a leafs. when you have them on there, the truck won't squat as much when the bed is loaded or when you have a trailer hooked up.

the only disadvantage i could see would be a little less travel in the coil springs compared to longer springs. but if a couple more inches of spring travel is that important to someone then maybe they should be shooting for a 5" lift or bigger instead of a 2.5" lift.

 

Theres nothing wrong with add a leaf or blocks imo. All give you what your going for which is bigger height so you can clear larger tires. No one is jumping there truck off a cliff purposely so its stupid to build some bullet proof lift kit when blocks or add a leaf will give you the same result.

 

I get compliments all the time on how agressive they look. Problem is they cost like 1800 bucks. There worth it though cuz they should last twice as long. 6 ply too which helps becasue they truck gets drove maybe a 100 miles a week and I need something that lasts. Interstate can get pretty noisy but any 42 inch tire is going to be kinda loud no matter what brand it is.

 

i believe that he is a prerunner, so yeah its worth it to be bullet proof
