You should do what I did, took this as the perfect opportunity to drop in a 360

In all seriousness the one time I had a truck just burning oil like a mother it was the rings and we could tell because the spark plugs were just caked in oil and it was killing the truck.

I am new to the plenum problem though so I am not 100% sure what the signs are for that. You will have an answer shortly because the plenum is a common problem and most can que you in.

10hp*

Definitely not worth the time, money and effort.

those numbers are pretty good, except for your #1, but that's still do-able. i wouldn't worry about replacing your rings. dude, seriously, use the search function on the top of the page, and look up plenum. theres about 3194820981309.356 threads about this.

Stock the 360 has 25 more hp. I got a crate 360 with 0 miles, Harland Sharp 1.7 RR, headers, gasket match, kegger mod in my truck for less than 1K. I have a regular cab 4x4 and want the extra hp and torque so worth the time, money and effort to me.

I agree. those numbers look good. replace that plenum gasket, do a tune up while it's out and the fuel and oil savings will pay for it in short order
