Default viper alarm wiring??

Hi,
Just order a viper 5901 with remote start, just wondering if yall have a wiring guide that helps me wire it to my 2001 ram 1500 5.9 4x4. Also do I need a bitwriter, the install manual says yes? Could I do the install and let a shop program it, or would it not be driven there?? Or is it not even needed?? Why do the install at all, u dont learn by paying someone else. Thanks, Ben

I've been out of the game for a while. IIRC the bit writer is just an easier way to program features and settings.

I wish i could help as I planned on doing this and I don't mean to be a downer especially since you already bought it but our local audio shop installs the viper system for $140 bucks I think... I don't know how much you paid but it would have probly been less hassle to have someone else do it.

But since you bought it already I can get you the local audio shop number and they may kinda walk you through it. There complete douche bags and may turn you away if you call and ask but if your completely stumped you can try. Just let me know and I can get you the number.

you need set of relays for the door locks at the driver kick panel

bit writer is to make the programing the remote overrides easier

you can do it with the toggle sw

solder your connections
