Dual piston caliper
well the piston is bigger and the pads are bigger, I had just changed my calipers less than a month before I changed to the 2500 calipers my brother did it to his chevy and worked good so I decided to do it to mine and have been happy with the decision, makes more of a difference when I have stuff in the bed
Was doing some looking and it looks like the HD 2500 and 3500 calipers are the same so you should be fine.

are those 8800 calipers still workin? i want to put them on my 97 1500 but have heard that the rotor may be too thin for that caliper. i know the '01 1500 has a thicker rotor than the 99 and below. what year rotors do u have?

I know of a few people that put the 8800 calipers on without a problem, another thing about the rotor sizes is that the 2500 and 3500 both run the same thickness rotor, I have not had a problem with my rotor being to thin so you shouldnt have to worry about that.

I posted earlier in this thread and just want to update. I have since installed the 2500 calipers and the autozone c-max pads along with russell steel braided brake lines, napa premium rotors and I already had the 1 ton chev wheel cylinders and it all works together really good. not to touchy, not to much pedal travel but just a nice progressive brake. if you are in the rain you don't have to worry about accidentally locking up ( which I had with only the 1 ton rears ) and if you have to get on the binders hard they will melt your face. however I am running 265/85/16's right now but when I do get bigger rims and tires I know the brakes are up for it. all direct bolt on.

Yeah the LD 2500 is the same thickness as the 1500 rotor
Thats above my knowledge for the master cylinder as I do not know the differences between the 2 and I do not know about the rotors my truck is 2wd and I cant swap to newer rotors so maybe someone with more knowledge on this can help you
