Shouldn't be anything on the inside of the filter,only outside.

Depends on how the change was done. Did you do it? If so doubt you flushed the system. The torque convertor holds something like 4/5 qts. Transmission cooler and lines another. Most shops dont do filter changes anymore they just backflush so the magnet never gets wiped off.

Here was my magnet after (2years) 20K on the rebuild. I did have buildup on my magnet, but it wasn't as chunky as yours. Mine was like brake dust almost. I did consider adjusting my bands.... but purpl scared me away from that. How often should one get their bands adjusted?

But that build up looks fine. It is totally normal. The magnet is there to catch clutch material from normal operation and wear. Only if there was very large deposits of clutch material on the magnet, I would be worried, and espcially if you noticed slipping.

umm were u googling that phrase? cause im concerned if u was. lol jk. yea purp you didnt really give me confidence that i should adjust the bands myself. but i dont really wanna let a shop touch my transmission unless they have to.

yea i did the change myself. so how would i need to flush it. i was just gonna do another change in hopes of catching more crap, but a flush sounds great.
