Scary pics of my tranny magnet!!!!!
oh yeah. well it wasnt shifting into gears, and there was a loud buzzing noise coming from tranny. i thought my tranny was mush. still my turn out to be, but for now all is good. just feels like i need abit of band adjusting. which one can u adjust from outside the tranny?
You are sopposed to do that on every vehicle. Whether its a 18 horse John Deere lawn tractor or a Ferrari.
the problem people have with adjusting their bands is that some people back the adjusting bolt off either too far or not enough because different year rams need a different adjustment.
all years get tightened to 72 inch pounds then backed off between 1 7/8 of a turn and 4 turns, then you tighten the lock nut and you're done.
if the bands are too tight then they'll dig into the drum and eventually break. and you'll have really harsh shifting.
if they're too loose then the shifts will be really mushy and eventually blow the transmission.
if you don't have any shifting issues then it is best to leave the bands alone.

you mean it clunks/slams when you put it in reverse? if so then that is normal on a transmission with some miles on it, as long as your u joints on the drive shaft are good and the gears don't have too much backlash.
that line was great, it actually made me laugh a little. the way i read it, its like the subbed K is when the park to reverse shift completes.
