Just did mine friend. You have to have a pitman arm puller. $14.99 at Autozone. Check out the DIY with pictures in the DIY section.

I hijacked it. I didn't want to start a new thread on an old topic.

So the air hammer worked. I will try that before buying the fork and bashing with a big hammer.

You guys that want to hammer and bang on your suspension go right ahead. Next time you go to the parts store pick up a new bushing set, and save for new ball joints while your at it.

The purpose of using a puller is to gradually remove a pressed fitting. If you can't afford one Autozone will loan you one.

Yeah that is my bad. I pulled it a few days before the stabilizer came it. Forgot to take pics when I pulled it.

I will always trust a S. Texas guy. I know that my Oreily's has the pullers for rent. Just can't picture how it will work. No problem. I can just start playing with it once I have it in hand. BTW, torp74, what lift set up are you running and what is the backspacing on your rims?

can the steering stabilizer cause any hop when turning? and how do you know if the are gone? i think mine might be bent beccause when i did my plenum, i was standing on the sway bar in my engine, and a couple times, on accident, i put all my weight down on only the steering stabilizer....So how do i know if its gone, and how much are the rough countrys? can you get those at AZ or advance? i looked online and couldnt find them. Now that i think of it, the hop started after i did the plenum the first time...Just want to know because i have new ball joints, wheel bearings, u-joints, axle seals, tie-rods and brakes going on this week, becuase i dont want my new tires to get the wear my old ones had....and ill be pissed if i put all that in and it doesnt fix the problem of hopping....ive bought the parts, and am about to install (starting today), and i want to know if i need to get a stabilizer as well.

It is pretty simple. You just take the nut off of the front side, slide the piman arm puller over the track bar till you get it position over the pressed bolt, and use a socket wrench to crank it down. Mine was seriously pressed in there, I cranked and cranked until I thought the puller was going to break, went to the shed to get a breaker bar, and when I came back ~viola~ the whole shooting match was lying there on the ground. Get the small sized pitman arm puller if you can, it just needs to be big enough to slide over your trackbar.
