No test drive yet. Gonna change the oil, throw the tune on, finish the little bit of wiring I have left first. Hopefully tomorrow I can take a spin around at least the parking lot behind my house.

congrats on having a running motor again, i musta missed it, what prompted the rebuild??

anywho, you had to let a huge sigh of relief when it fired, i sure as hell did when i put the intake back on and hooked everything up, i was amazed at how quickly it started, i cycled the key a few times to fill the rails and build pressure, hit the starter and it fired right off

Capt. I will

Maroon: It had a misfire. I was gonna yank the heads off and replace them and do the hughes plenum pan kit and be done with it. A certain member on here (pcfixer) kept saying "your down that far do a cam". I kept saying no till I was actually down that far and seen how close I was to the cam so I decided to do it. When we pulled the cam out a couple of the cam bearings had wear. Also my pistons had knicks in the top of them and lumps of metal on top. No idea what happened to them, I decided for sure after seeing the cam bearings that I was gonna pull it and replace all the bearings. Wanted to be on the safe side. When I took it to the machine shop he informed me that a couple of my bores were weird sizes and it needed bored out. Him having my engine for over a year allowed me to go a little crazy and spend more money on other parts. Which is why I have the air gap and tc. i'm pissed that it took so long but in a way happy cause I was able to mod it more.

Now comes rebuilding my GT's motor

my luck he would finish that in a couple days.

Gonna throw the tune on and see if the timing needs adjusted anymore. Fuel sync ain't a major issue right now. Maybe I'll have Troy check it when it goes for inspection
