put the torch on long as it would go before it crapped out, even went ape chit with a air hammer, lmao, one tough SOB , if i gotta push my truck out of the garage for the night, prob not a good idea to start it real quick to pull it back into the garage with no manifold on right? ( bend the valves?) id hate to mock it back up there and take it back off again , i dont have anyone to help push it back into the garage up an incline,(look across the street at neighbors house in sig pic thats about the same incline not much but a hassle,) i might see if someone i know will come over and weld a nut on the end of that stud, spose to rain and snow next week... back out i go.......

DIY headers are something im not planing on doing, you basicly just proved my worst fears. Iv always hated doing headers and this would be the first set i did on an engine while it was in the truck, i'v always done them while the engine was pulled which was alot easier, i'v had friends do what you did an the same **** always happend, and im not about to pull my engine untill it's ready to be rebuilt.

its really not that bad if you're patient enough. unfortunately, nobody can ever tell. what might be a fairly simple job on your truck, could very well end up being what john is going through. like, mine, were fairly simple. granted, it was a pain and i did snap a bolt, it still went pretty smoothly, more than i expected. but like i said, no one can really tell, it differs between trucks.

I was born an raised in the south, alot of the trucks iv had in the past werent rusted as badly as the trucks up here in the north, my D150 wasnt hard at all, even though the engine had been pulled when i did it plus it was a southern farm truck that had seen 120 thousond miles of dirtroads and trails.

My 1500 on the otherhand is rusty as HELL and im afraid of messing with it because right now im running low on funds since christmas just basicly raped my bank. and my truck is my daily driver so i cant afford to have the same thing happen to me.
