locker or spool?
Well i am finaly going to do gears and and i want to change the front carrie as well. Been thinking why not put a spool in. One it alot cheaper then a locker or tru track. And never have to worry about blowing it up. Now is it good to make my truck jump around when it in 2wd b/c the axle discount on the passager side when in 2wd. O by the way the spool going in the front diff. Has any one done this? Is this going to brake more parts.

I don't know enough about the axle disconnect to say if it will work. But I am thinking along the same lines as you are. If the axle is disconnected from side to side it really doesn't matter what is in the front diff (limited, locker, or spool) till you put it in 4 wheel. Just don't use it unless off road or on snow or ice.

i could never advise anyone in PA with a 4 wheel drive truck to put a spool in the front end. it would be too dangerous to use on the road in snow or ice. and what's the point of a 4wd truck if you can't use it. the other risk would be friend or girlfriend or wife might not understand what a spool is, and jump in and take off in it one day in a snow storm. first good sharp curve you come to and its hello ditch.
if you want traction, put a locker in the rear.
my first choice would be leave the front open. second choice is LSD. third choice is locker. spool is not a choice.
