Default How do I fix this-track bar (vid)

Hi all,
I found out why my steering is so "soggy" as my friend calls it. The axle side of the track bar is loose and sliding around. I tightened the crap out of the bolt and nothing changed. When I called the dealer and asked them about it they just said "You gotta tighten that bolt". They couldn't seem to get it through their heads that it is as tight as it goes.

I stuck a 5' pole on the end of my breaker bar and stood on it just to see if it could go any tighter. I ended up shattering the breaker bar and it didn't help anything. So...I'm turning to you guys for help. It's only 6 months (10xxx miles) old, but is the track bar shot? Is there something missing that the bolt goes through? It's hard to keep my truck on the road with the axle sliding around like that so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You can get one at napa for about 150-200 bucks, they usually always have them in stock because it's a normal issue with dodge. if i remember correctly it's a 15mm socket and a hammer/bigass flat head screw driver. takes about 30 min. hour if you dont know what your doing.

Edit: it's not that the bolt is loose it's the bushings are gone.

Couldn't load the video, how about some pics of the track bar end out of the differential housing. Lets look at the bushing assembly.
Also check the bolt, having been loose might have eroded the diameter and will cause play.

Yeah, that little rubber bushing is shot. My advice would be to get this:

It's actually an 18mm socket and it's the second track bar that I've installed on this money pit so yeah, I know what I'm doing

So it's shot? I think Advanced auto offered a 1 year warranty on it, so I think I should be all set there. What's a good brand of track bar?

Thanks purple but 400 bucks!!! There is no way I'm gonna pay that much, although I'm sure it's a good product.

As far as OEM replacement there is no one brand better than the other.

If your ball end is good, you can purchase either a urethane replacement or rubber one for the differential end. Of course the ball end will wear next, and then what? Lukes link? Linstead mod?
When considering an aftermarket bar, budget is a factor. It seems around 300 to 500 dollars is rough guess depending on type and brand.

The energy suspension part number for your bar is 5.7111G (black). Please double check that.
