Way to go 95, now, the next time you repair something in that area, it won't take long at all, now that you've done it!!!

i know, and i cleaned/antisiezed everything, so i shouldnt have a problem when i do my seals when it gets warmer.

on a good note i didnt damage my seal...but my drivers side is bad, which means the pass. side axle has to come out, and then its probably going to get damaged, so ill d them both when the time comes. my drivers side is bad, and ive been through many water/mud pits, and the fluid isnt contamnated/low...so im not to worried about it right now

You'd prolly have to go thru some deep water, and get stuck for several minutes to get water in there. Depending on how bad the seal is..... I don't go thru anything, more than an inch, or three, unless it's an emergency.

All this talk about wheel bearings got me thinking about my own truck. I replaced the drivers side in August but the passenger side seemed solid then. I checked it last night and sure enough, there's about 1/2" of play in it. At least I'll know what I'm doing this time

when i changed my driver u joint i pulled the hub and axle out at the same time because i had a brain fart and didn't think to tap the axle to separate it from the hub. so the axle dragged pretty hard on the seal. it took a few days for it to start leaking.
you can get those seals changed out in half a day if you devote a whole day to it and don't just do a little bit at a time over a few days.

Nope, it was the regular right handed thread. The passenger side should be the same way right?
